The Office of Historical Corrections by Danielle Evans
Rating: 4 Stars
The Office of Historical Corrections is a collection of short stories and a novella. Each narrative stands on its own and intricately covers an array of themes such as race, white supremacy, purpose, family, and history.
‘Anything Could Disappear’ was my favorite story. I enjoyed the development of Vera and her sense of purpose being reestablished in a new and unexpected way that ultimately leaves her with having to make difficult, but necessary decisions.
Danielle Evans’ creation of each of these modern worlds and circumstances shared through the lens of varying point of views are a marvel and utterly unique. There are many instances where stories end with a cliffhanger that left me with lingering thoughts and questions-which I love. I’m very interested in reading her previous works.
