Four Ways To Style Daze’s Denim High Rise Shorts
I was introduced to Daze Denim last year by the one and only Beatnik Fine Goods. Daze is not only known for being stylist while offering give and stretch denim options, they’re also an eco-friendly brand that uses sustainable fabrics and wash practices that reduces chemical, energy, and water consumption.
The moment I saw Beatnik was selling a few pair of Daze denim short for Spring and Summer, I immediately made time to go the store to track down a pair. I’m happy I did seeing as two customers that came in after me were in search of the same. I was able to pick my usual size and try them on to see if they passed my own personal length test.
With cheeky cuts in bathing suits on the rise, I’m a little concerned about the direction denim shorts might be headed. It seems the Bermuda and Mom fits are here to stay. Since I’m a bit of a modest mouse when it comes to shorts the older I get, the fact that lengthy, high rise shorts are seemingly staying a while makes me feel seen and very happy. These shorts fit TTS and land a little pass mid thigh on me. Although they’re not the same length as a pair of Bermuda shorts, all substantial or subtle length in the denim shorts world is good length to me.
I’ve curated four easy looks to style these shorts for different occasions. Some items are new and some I’ve had for a minute. I’ve included links to each look at the bottom, but not every item linked is exactly what’s been posted. So, feel free to purchase what’s posted or get creative with what you already have. All decisions are welcomed!
LOOK ONE:
T-Shirt + Tube Sock
I’ve dived into the tube sock game back in the Fall thanks to Beatnik and their constant flow of all thing Le Bon Shoppe socks. If you thought that tube sock energy would change come Spring and Summer— you’re sorely mistaken. I bought this A & F T-shirt because of its Texas reference and snagged these Bon Shoppe Girlfriend length socks from Beatnik the same day I purchased the shorts. This is definitely a leisure and fun look for a work at home situation. I also feel this look could have easily been accomplished in the 70’s and I’m not the least bit mad about it.
LOOK TWO:
A Sweatshirt + Footbed Sandals
If you’re like me, you likely upped your lounge wear game in 2020. I purchased this Old Navy Sweatshirt because yes, it’s a sweatshirt, but also because I liked the simple and soft tan and white stripes. I have to be careful with stripes though seeing as there was a time my closet was consumed in it. Now, I purposely own a few stripped staples as I have no intention of crawling back down that rabbit hole again. This sweatshirt and my knock-off Birks sandals combination give this an unintended, but more than welcomed beach vibe. I proudly wear this look when I’m headed out for an errand runs. So needless to say—I wear this styling a lot.
LOOK THREE:
Blue and White Linen Button Down Blouse
I usually reserve wearing button downs for work, but seeing as I’ve not been to my office in over year, I’ve decided to start wearing them on the rare occasion I decide to go out. This new to my closet H&M Linen Button Down addition happens to be soft, flattering, and inexpensive. Aka— all of my favorite characteristics for my Summer staples to house. I’m sure we all have a blouse like this. If by chance you do not, this particular one is only $12 and well worth a purchase. Though I’ve chosen to wear this beaut with denim shorts, it’s one that could be easily styled with all types of Spring and Summer bottoms. There’s an effortless sophistication I feel while sporting this look that I’ve not tried to purposely accomplish in a while. So, I’m declaring this styling a brunch with friends look.
LOOK FOUR:
A White Blazer + Silk Cami Top
It’s almost grilling season. Well, it’s almost grilling season for grilling connoisseurs. I attend grill gatherings for a vegetarian friendly plate, laughs, and a reason to dress up. I know Spring and Summer brings warmer temperatures, but it’s always good to have a jacket on hand just in case it unexpectedly gets a little cooler at night. I snagged this White H & M blazer last year, but I found it’s derivatives below. I want you to know, the limit does not exist in terms of the blazer style or color you choose to wear. Just have fun with the look and wear whatever style of blazer that you have or makes you feel chic.
