My Kale and Garlic Recipe

If it’s an easy, quick recipe, I’m here for it. This flavorful and filling meal is something that I cook up whenever I have an abundance of kale. The ingredients and steps are simple. Plus, it’s something you can cook under 30 minutes. I usually eat this as a main course-seeing as I’m a vegetarian, but this could also serve as a side dish. It’s all up to the chef.

Ingredients

  • Cooking pan

  • 5 to 6 cups of Kale (I prefer 365 Organic Chopped Kale from Whole Foods)

  • Avocado oil Spray (365 Whole Brand is my go-to)

  • 1/2 of chopped Onions (White or Yellow)

  • 1/2 (Large) Lemon

  • 1 tbsp. minced Garlic (I prefer organic pre-chopped garlic)

  • Pepper

  • Salt

  • Pine nuts or almonds

  • Hot sauce and/or red pepper flakes

Step by Step Instructions

  1. Place pan on Medium heat

  2. spray the whole pan with Avocado Oil

  3. Place chopped onions and garlic in pan while it’s heating up

  4. salt and pepper chopped onion and garlic (use your own discretion)

  5. allow onions and garlic to caramelize (slight browning)

  6. Place kale on top of caramelized onions and garlic

  7. spray kale with avocado spray (hardy spray)

  8. salt and pepper kale (to taste)

  9. squeeze lemon on top of kale

  10. stir until kale cooks through (about 5 minutes)

  11. Remove kale and plate it

  12. add pine nuts or almonds for substance

  13. add hot sauce and/or red pepper flakes for a (slight) kick

  14. Drink with water

Enjoy!
